Level Up Your Live Stream and Virtual Events

Even before there were stay-at-home orders and work-from-home programs, businesses have stressed about staying connected and creating more digital content. Or, better yet, creating more live digital content.

We’ve loved seeing the evolution and creativity that businesses and creators have used to overcome the obstacles of 2020. Whether it’s been editing and airing interviews (and even full TV episodes) filmed over Zoom, self-taping updates and informational content at home, going live on Instagram, YouTube or Twitch, live-streaming their corporate events and keynotes, and so much more.

In all of this content creation, we find ourselves having more and more conversations about graphics packages...so we figured we’d take a minute to walk through it.

So...what is a graphics package?

Simply put, graphics packages are a system of branded, animated/motion graphics elements that your brand can plug into your video content as needed.

A broadcast or graphics package might include:

  • Intro and outro animations feat. a custom logo animation and end card

  • Lower third graphics

  • Full screen graphics

  • Half screen graphics

Why is a graphics package valuable?

Graphics packages elevate your digital content while reinforcing brand recognition. They add a level of polish, professionalism and consistency. By leveraging your existing brand style, or that of an event or campaign, a custom graphics package creates cohesion across your brand’s marketing content. This is the video equivalent of your logo and brand guide.

In short: it helps your video content fit under and support your branding, which ultimately empowers your audience to better recognize and remember your brand.

They also make you look fly as hell.

Where might you use one?

On any video or live stream content. In the name of showing vs. telling, here are a few recent graphics packages we created for varying applications:

Live Stream

A fairly comprehensive broadcast package for ComedySportz Chicago’s Twitch-based, virtual entertainment network: CSZN. This robust package included logo animations, animated interstitials/transition sequences, lower thirds and a full, keyed-out intro sequence that incorporates the live video feed into the pre-built animations.

Virtual Corporate Event

In the wake of COVID-19, tradeshows and other live corporate events have either been cancelled or have migrated to the virtual realm.

Embracing the virtual format, the Chicago Loop Alliance wanted to infuse their virtual annual members meeting with a little more of their personality. We married their branding with a [re-emergingly popular] retro, Brady Bunch nod, to create a package including an opening/intro video, lower thirds and end credit sequence.

Basic Branded System

The audio and music pros at Unlock Audio asked us to help add a little extra spice and brand consistency to their social, promo and educational content with a full graphics package including a new logo animation, title design and animation and other graphics.

From reaction to reality

While many brands and businesses may have started generating more video content or exploring virtual live events as a reaction to the COVID-19 crisis, video has long been an invaluable marketing tool. And now, after nearly two years of experiencing the benefits of virtual events, such as convenience, expanded reach and re-watchability, online events are here to stay. Whether creating content out of a need to adapt to outside challenges or just because it’s good business, a custom graphics package puts your brand at the forefront consistently and effectively.
